fiber arts : sewing : pick pouch

This was my first real hand sewing project. We keep old torn clothing and sheets and such to use for projects rather than buying new fabric. As such, I cannibalized an old pair of jeans and an old bed sheet. The bed sheet is the inner lining to the pouch, with the denim on the outside. We have a jar or two full of buttons and I found a cool white (with blue accents/design), four holed button that was about the right size and sewed it on. I then braided some embroidery floss to make a loop and sewed that on as a way to join the button and the pouch flap.

I am really happy with how it came out. Now I do not have to go digging in the large pouch on my dulcimer case for a pick. I can just fish out the large, and easy to grab, pick pouch and get what I need.
