food : waffles
This is my daughter's favorite meal. Go figure, right? My wife always makes her have peanut butter on one though, instead of always using syrup.
Ingredients
| Amount | Measure | Ingredient |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Cup | Flour |
| 2 | Tbsp | Sugar |
| 1 | Tbsp | Baking powder |
| 0.25 | Cup | Applesauce |
| 1 | pinch | Salt |
| 1.75+ | Cup | Almond milk |
Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large bowl
- Add the applesauce and almond milk and stir
- Add more almond milk as needed to get the consistency you want for your particular waffle iron
- Pour into waffle iron according to the capacity/instructions of your waffle iron
Notes
- You can use any alternative milk for this recipe, not just almond
- You can use oil instead of applesauce, but the applesauce tastes good and is better for you
- You can use water if you are out of alternative milks, but it wont taste quite as good
- The 1.75 C measurement for the alt milk is a low end estimate. My waffle maker wants a really watery batter, so I add a lot more. It is something you get the hang of after trying a batch or two. The given amount is a decent starting point
