fiber arts : crochet : granny glasses case

We went on a trip with my parents, sister, and nephew (in addition to my partner and child) recently. On the trip I brought a mix of scrap yarn I had in the bottom of my yarn box and figured I'd find something to do with it if I had downtime around the motel we were staying at. I decided to use a basic granny rectangle, changing yarn each round, to make a glasses case for my sister. She really loved it, which made me happy.

The yarns were a bunch of different textures. I got to use up some of the really junky cotton yarn I had lying around and really didn't like. It actually turned out to be a good stiff yarn for this sort of project.

Pattern / Instructions

I'm not including a pattern for this one since it is just a basic granny rectangle and then I folded it in half when it got to around the right size. I then stitched up the open long side and the bottom (one short side) with a SC join around them. Pretty simple. You can follow the basic instructions for a granny rectangle (but change the number of chains and repetitions to something appropriate for the project) from the fallen leaves blanket. That should get you in the ballpark.
