Notes & Thoughts
Romie and I had been friends since we recorded her old band, Romak and the Space Pirates's first album. We started playing around with some songs, including a Billy Idol cover and some weird ideas. Two of those ideas, tracks 1 and 3 here, ended up on this disc. The second track was brought in by our drummer, Rogie, more or less fully formed. I added guitar to it, and Romie added bass, but otherwise it was brought in one piece. We had fun playing a few shows and doing a music video for track 2.
This group had a number of small lineup changes, but this simple trio was my favorite. We had a lot of fun. It was always Romie's solo project, but I was happy to get to take part in it for awhile. She has gone on to produce more dance/electronic music than what we were doing (it is great stuff, check it out), but I think we had a pretty unique and special sound on the three singles and one EP that we released. We had more great songs that we played live that just never managed to get recorded well before everyone moved on to other things, as happens in music sometimes.
